As long as you provide enough bright light for a Pencil Cactus, they're super low maintenance and will thrive with infrequent but thorough waterings. They grow upwards and outwards, developing thick, woody trunks as the plant reaches a mature state. If they get enough direct sun, the green branches may 'sun stress' and turn a bright, fiery orange, displaying why they're sometimes called 'Fire Sticks.'
